Description
This enchanting and exquisitely presented villa is typical of Panarea, whose residents – both full- and part-time – take great care to maintain the beauty of homes, gardens and the natural environment of this small and pretty island. Villa Panarea is located in an area known as Ditella, is built on a cliffy rock above the sea, dominating from on high both port and village. Views are splendid: over the sea to the active volcano of Stromboli and to the fairly tale offshore islets of Basiluzzo and Lisca Bianca. In typical Aeolian style, the walls of the villa are whitewashed, with bands of ochre defining doorways and windows...a striking contrast with the vibrant blue of the Aeolian sea. The villa is also typical of Aeolian architecture in that the heart of the home is outside – life is lived on the terraces and in the garden of Mediterranean maquis and bougainvillea, descending towards the sea . Villa Panarea is on two storeys. Accommodation consists of four bedrooms, each with air-conditioning, plasma TV screen, satellite, fridge bar and an ensuite bathroom with shower. One bedroom, on the top floor, has a private terrace. The other three, on the level below, have an independent entrance and open onto a large covered terrace. This is the villa’s main living area with a dining area shaded by a pergola, a breakfast area and the benches known as bisuoli, typical of Aeolian architecture, built into the walls. Naturally the views are panoramic!
