Surroundings
The villa is located very close to the archeological park of Selinunte, one of the most interesting in Sicily.
The temples of Selinunte were the greatest and most imposing Greek constructions in Sicily after those of Agrigento and they were second only to a few others in the entire country.
La riserva del belice
The mouth of the Belice River, declared as a Nature Reserve in 1984, protects an endangered African landscape, with plenty of sandy dunes and water courses.
The reserve, running between Marinella di Selinunte and Porto Palo, includes two fine coastal strips (5 kms)
with aquatic and marshy vegetation. It is a highly windy area with a sub-tropical climate, covered by bushes and abundant grassy vegetation.
The sea
“FEEE” (Foundation for Environmental Education), has assigned for the 8th time (2005) the Blue Flag to the
sea of Menfi: 7 km of beaches (including Porto Palo, Serrone Cipollazzo, Lido Fiori, Capparrina, Bertolino),where quality and environmental education are guaranteed.
Local wineries and oil farm can be found in the sorroundings and a visit can be arranged on request.
Menfi is the nearest town to “I Parchi”
A big agricultural centre, Menfi boasts the cultivation of various agriculture products, such as citrus plantations, fruit, cereals, and vegetables. Cattle breeding and sheep farms are quite developed.
