Description

La Caravella is located a few minutes walk from Panarea’s main harbour - in the area known as Iditella - and it is one of the most beautiful villas in Panarea. The view is outstanding: you look out over fishing boats floating on the deep blue water to the active volcano of Stromboli and the picturesque islets of Basiluzzo and Lisca Bianca isles. Enjoying a drink at the sunset, you can sit listening to the water break on the rocks, and watch the lights of the small village slowly switched on. On clear nights, you can see Stromboli exploding red, against the black sky.
The beach is just 2 metres from the house.
La Caravella comprises two independent apartments (each sleeping two), sharing some areas such terraces, kitchen and sun deck, so is best suited to two couples or a family. There is a third apartment (also sleeping two) at sea level with its own kitchen.
The apartments are beautifully furnished and services are on a par with those of a five star hotel: there is a daily maid to tidy bedrooms and bathrooms.

Surroundings

Panarea – whose name comes from Panaraia (all disjointed) – is the smallest isle of the Aeolian islands: it’s 3,400 kmq large and it is 11,5 miles from Lipari. It has always been very little populated and thanks to its remoteness and wonderful sea, it’s now the most loved isle in the archipelago. Some time ago, many people – who had arrived in Panarea as visitors – decided to buy land and ruins, which, once restored according to the local style – have made it the poshest isle in Sicily.
Its small size and little alleys - lighted only by torches - prevent cars to spoil the atmosphere, which is absolutely amazing.
Panarea is an exclusive isle and you can easily realize it watching the many huge yachts parked in the best spots – such as Cala Junco – and the helicopters landing strip.
Besides the gorgeous nature and the interesting architecture, Panarea has a great night life: high standard restaurants for the most exigent gourmets from all over the world, discos on the sea, exclusive shops. Once you come here, you’d like to stay forever!

Distances

From Milazzo (the nearest harbor to the Aeolian islands, on the north coast of Sicily): you can reach Filicudi by ferry or hydrofoil. There are several trips a day all the year around.
From Reggio Calabria and Messina: there are several hydrofoil trips a day all the year around, with some stops in the other islands.
From Napoli (change in Salina or Lipari): By ferry, with Siremar, twice a week in the winter and up to 6 trips in the summer; by hydrofoil, Ustica Lines, once or twice a day, only in the summer (10 June/20 Sept.), stopping in Lipari.
