Description
Casa San Pancrazio is a beautiful 19th century villa, situated right in the historic heart of Taormina, the most famous and beautiful resort in Sicily. German writer Johann Wolfang Goethe, who visited in 1787 -- when it was a small fortified village, protected by walls built by the Arabs -- considered Taormina "a strip of paradise on earth". With its perfectly preserved streets, lush subtropical vegetation and magnificent views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, you may find yourself agreeing.
The house, which lies next to the old city gate, Porta Messina, is typical of Taormina, built on three storeys with a small, but lovely, garden terraced on three tiers, giving you privacy and peace even if you are in the bustling centre of town. It is furnished with antique Sicilian furniture and the rooms are extremely comfortable.
