Case del Feudo are set in an idyllic large estate, planted with orchards and vineyards, just a few kilometers from the archaeological area of Syracuse. The charm and intriguing ambience of this farmhouse perfectly mirror the spirit of the owner, historian, great connoisseur of the old traditions of his land, bon vivant and fabolous host. All in Case del Feudo is perfectly tended: the inner furnishing is cosy and impeccable, a large common area set around a fireplace invites the guests to the pleasure of convivium , maybe tasting the very good local wine. The bedrooms, who hosted several VIPs, are extremely comfortable and furnished with precious pieces. During the summer, the inner courtyard of the farmhouse (baglio) becomes the external dining area, allowing to enjoy the Mediterranean scents of the plants. A large swimming pool, set by the garden, increases the comfort of Case del Feudo. The cooking - may it be breakfast, lunch or dinner - offers a perfect sample of the best recipes of the Sicilian tradition using the local, genuine produces. Siracusa, a city with a glorious past that was a worthy rival of Athens, Carthage and Rome for winning over domination of the island, is today one of the most interesting cities in Sicily, the cradle of theatre and a fantastic monument to Baroque style.
Siracusa stands on the East coast of Sicily, next to the clear blue sea and with two famous rivers, the Ciane and the Anapo. Poets and writers, from Cicero to D’Annunzio were inspired by the beauty of this place and by the legends linked to this area.
Not to be missed the Festival of ancient Greek tragedies and comedies, which takes place every 2 years (in may and june) in the ancient theatre. The Baroque towns of Noto and Modica are just half an hour drive. The owner organizes wonderful daily excursions by boat along the river Cyane (sacred to the ancient Greek), where guests, like in the old times, are brought by horse and carriage to the mooring and then are led to the inner side of the river, where they find an incredible, luxurious pic-nic, with crystals and silvers, ready for them. A real treat!
