Description
The first time we came to the Oasi di Vendicari to see this wonderful little country house we couldn’t believe that we were following the track that leads to the famous Cala Mosca, one of the most beautiful coves in Sicily. But it was true: we found a gate just 500 metres from the bay, walked for a few metres in the company of horses grazing nearby, and found ourselves before a house that seemed to belong to another world, its colours faded by time and its whitewashed walls so brilliant that they seemed to cleanse the eyes.
Inspired by the colours of the Vendicari landscape, the owners of the Piccola Oasi have created an interior entirely based around delicate tones of green and white. The result is an enchanting house, at once spartan and elegant, the perfect place to spend quality time with friends and family.

Surroundings
L’Oasi di Vendicari has been a nature reserve since 1984. Today it is internationally recognised as one of the most vital coastal reserves in Europe, attracting 100s of species of migratory birds every year.
As well as seeing typical Mediterranean maquis in all its splendour, you can swim in crystal-clear waters, and walk for miles along beaches of fine white sand. It is not for nothing that people compare the beach at Cala Mosca with those of the Caribbean!
The reserve is just 14km south of Noto, one of eight towns in the Val di Noto declared by UNESCO to be World Heritage sites as unique examples of Sicilian Baroque town planning and architecture.
In the surrounding area are the fascinating natural reserves of Fiume Irminio, Prainito, and Manghisi; the cave necropoli of Pantalica and Castelluccio, and small cultural towns such as Modica e Scicli which together with Noto have a rich season of cultural events every summer.

The house is located within the Vendicari nature reserve.
The house, along with nearby Oasi(sleeps 8) is located within a huge agricultural estate. It is just 20 minutes’ walk from the beautiful beach at Cala Mosca, a walk we would urge you to take every evening, when most visitors to the reserve have left, to see the splendid sunsets.
